 This is a video I filmed today about Merle Thornton, a remarkable character who chained herself to the Regatta Hotel front bar almost 50 years ago, sparking a feminist movement across Australia which changed the way women could interact in public social life. Merle has had the bar named after her, which is fair enough, given that the majority of patrons to the Regatta nowadays are women! Welcome to my new blog page! Here is my latest highlights video, the wedding of Amanda & Damien at Brisbane Golf Club on March 15, 2014. Damien was born with cystic fibrosis, his health deteriorated so badly that in 2012 after waiting only 19 days on the transplant list he was given the amazing gift of a double lung transplant at the Prince Charles Hospital. His second chance at life has inspired him to make the most out every day and he chose to start his new life by marrying his long term partner, Amanda.
